COVID-19

Based on the Governor’s recent Executive Order and the current guidance offered by the State of Maine CDC, please note the following protocol changes as of Monday May 24, 2021, for St. Paul the Apostle Parish and all parishes within the Diocese of Portland.

• Masks are no longer required for any person at any time, indoors or outdoors including the church and sanctuary space. If you are more comfortable wearing a mask, please continue to do so.
• No capacity limits. Therefore, advance registration for Mass is no longer required.
• Contact tracing information is no longer required. Therefore, check lists will not be used and multiple entrances into the church can now be used.
• No more social distancing between households. Therefore, all the pews are available for seating. All present for Mass may sit where they choose and with whom.
• Live-stream Masses will continue indefinitely.
• Hand sanitizer will still be made available.
• The CDC recommends that unvaccinated individuals wear a mask in indoor settings but it is not required. Parents are the responsible parties for deciding whether their children are masked. You will not be asked about your vaccination status by any parish employee or volunteer.

Further information on the protocols for the actual celebration of Mass, the functioning of parish offices, and the guidance for summer faith formation activities will be issued in the next few weeks.

Although the parish office doors remain locked, the  parish staff are still working. Visitors should call (207) 217-6740 to be let in. We are in the office M-F from 8:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

PRAYERS
We are finding that being connected with each other is more important than we may have realized. During this period when we are not able to be together physically, we can all pray the Angelus, at the traditional times of the day – 12 noon and 6 pm, knowing that we are in communion with each other in prayer.

Stations of the Cross - May be prayed anywhere, any time.

AN ACT OF SPIRITUAL COMMUNION: “My Jesus, I believe that you are present in the Most Holy Sacrament.  I love you above all things and I desire to receive you into my soul.  Since I cannot at this moment receive you sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace you as if you were already there and unite myself wholly to you.  Never permit me to be separated from you. Amen.” {Saint Alphonsus}
