An excerpt from Monsignor Dubois' June 12th Pastor's Perspective:
Solemnity of the Most Holy Body & Blood of Christ (June 18-19, 2022): How fitting it is that the Catholic Church in United States inaugurates a three-year “Eucharistic Revival” on this solemn feast. Its mission is “to renew the Church by enkindling a living relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ in the Holy Eucharist.” St. Paul the Apostle Parish joins with our entire diocese, under the pastoral leadership of Bishop Deeley, by committing ourselves to this evangelizing effort of helping Catholics re-encounter the Lord Jesus in the Eucharist, in whom we discover the “source and summit of the Christian life.” Through worship, catechesis, and service, we also hope that our witness will draw others into the full communion of the Catholic Church.
As a parish, we are in the planning stages of this pastoral initiative. However, I am pleased to announce our first effort: on Sunday, June 19, at both St. Matthew’s (Hampden) and St. John (Bangor), we will commemorate this solemn feast (also known as Corpus Christi) and our commitment to Eucharistic Revival by concluding these two Masses with a brief period of Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and Benediction (in lieu of the customary end-of-Mass blessing). Please join us for Mass at either church as we begin our “Eucharistic Revival.”
