Leadership Teams

In the spirit of 1 Corinthians 12, we affirm that all of us have been adopted into the Body of Christ through our baptism. Much like our physical bodies, the Body of Christ is made up of many parts each serving a distinct purpose. Within our ministry, the same lesson applies. We invite each member of CYM to carve out some time and fill out our Spiritual Gifts Inventory (see document below). After doing so, they may prayerfully consider which of the following teams best suits their gifts and talents.

• Community Team: This team is for individuals who are seeking to bring people together, organize events, and make others feel welcome. Community team is responsible for:
  • Putting together a birthday calendar for CYM members
  • Collecting sports and performance schedules and organizing group attendance at each event
  • Keeping track of milestone events (attained a driver's license, admitted into National Honors Society, etc.)

• Service Team: This team is for the individuals who find themselves seeing opportunities to serve, that other's might miss. Service team members act as the hands of Christ, embodying His mercy. Service team is responsible for:
  • Proposing service events for each season
  • Assisting in coordinating service projects
  • Helping with fundraising initiatives

• Creative Team: This team is for artists in many forms: writers, painters, photographers, and graphic artists are all welcome. This team helps enhance the aesthetics of the Barn at St. Matthew's and will assist with events outside the High School Faith Formation Program.
  • Design posters for each liturgical season in the Barn
  • Construct sets for other Faith Formation programs (Summit and VBS)
  • Maintain a creative atmosphere in the Barn

• Liturgy/Music Team: This team is for individuals who have musical abilities to share, and those who enjoy assisting in the Liturgy. This group includes instrumentalists, vocalists, altar servers, and lectors. Liturgy/Music Team is responsible for:
  • Providing music for our monthly Holy Hour
  • Assigning lectors and altar servers for Masses hosted by CYM
  • Leading their peers in Liturgy of the Hours, opening and closing prayer, and other devotionals

• Tech Team: This team is for individuals gifted in the sciences and problem-solving. Our ministry hosts a variety of events that require a sound system, and projection of images. Some of these events include our movie night and CYM welcome night. Tech team is responsible for:
  • Using the Faith Formation equipment (soundboard, speaker, projector, etc.) safely and properly
  • Setting up and tearing down all tech equipment before and after events
  • Promoting a smartphone app each month that will deepen our relationship with Christ
