Who is this for? Just youth in grades 6-12? Just their families?
No, this is a regular parish Mass which happens every Sunday at St. Teresa’s at 5:30 p.m. The sacristans and lectors and leadership team there have graciously welcomed us with open arms to take part in the Mass they have every week.
What is this, clowns and that sort of thing?
No, usually the music is provided by Dr. Kevin Birch, using the same worship aid from St. John’s Church, and it is very traditional and reverent and beautiful.
When is the Youth Mass?
Last year it was once a month (on holiday weekends when Youth Ministry was cancelled). This year it is one time this summer: July 24 – but we are open to adding more dates if there is enough interest from everyone.
Where is it held?
St. Teresa’s Church, 425 S. Main St. Brewer.
Why should I attend? Our parish offers 9 weekend Masses (including one in Spanish!), so why should I assist at this Mass in particular?
We don’t want to take you away from your regular weekend Mass and church! This is an opportunity for us to join together as Youth Ministry families in the highest form of prayer and the pinnacle of our Catholic faith.
Even if you can’t make it to this Mass (we know some of you are Altar Servers or have obligations at other Masses), please come to the after-party at 6:30 p.m. – the Youth Ministry farewell for seminarian Matt Valles!
How can I be involved in a ministry role?
We need greeters, readers/lectors, altar servers, etc. Please sign up here (and arrive at 4:45 p.m.).
